FLYP 4th Annual Awards Banquet

Fresno’s Leading Young Professional’s (FLYP) 4th Annual Awards Banquet will take place on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 5:30 pm at The Grand.  The banquet will be attended by FLYP members, community leaders and five individuals and or businesses that will be honored for their leadership contributions to the City of Fresno.

 

The 2012 Award Recipients are:

LEAD: Ryan Jacobsen: Executive Director of the Fresno County Farm Bureau      

This award is for a public official, public figure, or corporate leader in the Greater Fresno Area who has provided sustained and effective leadership to improve the lives of those that live in the Greater Fresno Area. The ideal candidate is a leader that demonstrates selfless service in promoting the Central Valley in a positive light and who has made demonstrable and significant changes to advance the professional community.

SERVE: Andy Souza: Executive Director of the Community Food Bank     

The award recipient must have a broad-based, continuing commitment to community service, public service and/or significant charitable or philanthropic contributions of benefit to the community, as reflected in a variety of activities, programs and initiatives which have served the needs of the professional community in the Greater Fresno Area.

CONNECT: Kopi Sotiropolus: KMPH Fox 26 Great Day Host   

The award recipient must exhibit a passion for connecting individuals in the Fresno community. The award recipient must have demonstrated the ability to connect multiple individuals and/or organizations to unite under a common goal that promotes positive change in our community. The ideal candidate has the ability to bridge generational, professional and political boundaries to advance initiatives in support of the professional community in the Greater Fresno Area.

COMPANY OF THE YEAR: Downtown Fresno Partnership  

This award is for a company that has demonstrated a continued commitment to developing Young Professionals in the Greater Fresno Area. The ideal candidate is one that has devoted resources to attracting, retaining, and mentoring young professionals.

FLYP’er of the Year: Jillian Coppler

The award winner is a Member of Fresno’s Leading Young Professionals that has not only contributed in a positive way to FLYP, but to the Fresno Community as well.  The FLYP’er of the Year exemplifies FLYP’s efforts to LEAD, SERVE and CONNECT in their everyday life through the generous donation of their time and talent.

SCHOLARSHIP: Pha Mouavangsou: Doctorate Program at CSU, Fresno                                                                                                    

One FLYP Scholarships for $500 will also be handed out to a FLYP Member working on a Post Graduate Degree.

Cost for the event will be $45 for Members and $55 for Non Members.  Menu choices are:

  • Pot Roast with Roasted Asparagus and Mashed Potatoes
  • Basa Basa (Fish) with Assorted Roasted Potatoes and baby carrots
  • Penne Pasta Primavera with squash, zucchini, mushrooms and parmesan cheese
  • Dessert will be a pumpkin pie tart and pumpkin cupcake!!!!

No Host Cocktail Hour/Silent Auction: 5:30pm

Dinner/Program Begins: 6:30pm
