Stephen Sotomayor, the current chairman of Fresno's Leading Young Professionals was named one of Fresno's top professionals under 40 years of age by Central Valley Business Street. Stephen has been the Chairman of FLYP for the past year and has seen the organization substantially grow and expand. In addition, Stephen was recognized for his work with the Housing and Community Development Division, including creating and organizing the San Joaquin Valley Housing Symposium, developing affordable housing for the residents of Fresno, and for his service in Iraq as a Captain in the Army for which he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
